What is the Turnaround Time on a Painting?
It'll take 2-5 weeks to receive
your painting in the mail. The exact time depends on the
size and complexity of the painting. We
will give you a specific completion date
once we've received your order and will
then regularly keep you updated of
status during the painting process.
Why should I get an Oil Painting and not a Print?
The biggest difference is that our paintings are hand-made pieces of art. Also, oil paintings last for generations;
unlike photographs and other types of prints, they don't lose
color. Oil paintings allow an artist to bring clear focus to the
subject(s). No distracting backgrounds or image artifacts, just
a piece of art that brings out the best in your subjects.
Payment.
We use Paypal to process payments. That's the safest and easiest way to pay on the Internet. You'll be able to pay using either your credit card or a Paypal account. Your bank or credit card details stay secure with Paypal, and Linden Alley never needs to see them. Don't worry if you've never used Paypal before. All you need is a credit card and we'll be happy to assist if you have any questions.
Mailing Pictures + What if I don't have digital photos?
If you don't have digital versions of your pictures, you can
send them to us by mail to our address in Massachusetts, USA,
and we will return them back to you when done. Just fill out our
online order form, check the box saying you want to mail your pictures and we'll show you the mailing address.

Do You Offer Framing?
Yes, you can choose from several different framing options. See
our order form for
details. Orders delivered to North America are framed custom by
our partner
Franken
Frames, which has been providing frame solutions for over 20
years. If you'd like to choose a different style of frame than
what's offered on our order form, feel free to select a style on
the Franken Frames
website and let us know the name of the frame. If you prefer to
work with a local frame store near you, select "no frame" in our
order form and we'll ship the canvas to you rolled in a tube.
How Are Your Paintings Made and What Materials Do You Use?
Everything is hand-painted by a professional artist. No digital
tools, no printing. We insist on using the finest materials,
such as paints by
Winsor &
Newton.
Who and Where Are Your Artists?
We work with a network of professional artists mostly
based in China. Linden Alley Founder Peter Burchhardt lives
there, speaks the language, and scouts for the best artists
directly at galleries and art shows around the country. As a
result, Linden Alley has long-term relationships with very
experienced and talented artists. We're able to bring you
top-quality art at very reasonable prices because we've
eliminated layers of middle-men. See the

What if I prefer to work with an
artist in person?
You can search for artists in your area, such as
award-winning portrait artist

We ship anywhere and welcome customers from around the world.
Our prices include shipping.
What are some common occasions for which customers get
custom-made oil paintings? There are lots, but the
most common would be
wedding anniversaries, birthdays, retirements, and holiday
gifts.
Reviewing drafts of the painting.
We'll email you a picture of your painting once the artist is
done. You can then review and request changes until you're 100%
satisfied.
Shipping Damage.
If the delivery box for your painting arrives damaged, please notify the delivery person and us immediately. Deliveries are fully insured.
