Profile of a Portrait Artist - Bie Ke

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Here’s a post to introduce Master Bie, one of the artists at Linden Alley. We first met at his studio in South China. I was browsing the area looking for artists to join the Linden Alley group and was impressed with Master Bie’s skill. Here’s a picture from our first meeting:

And going through pictures of his previous work:

He was working on an original landscape painting at the time, one of his favorite types of paintings. We’ve started working together now and have already done a landscape project as well. It was a wedding gift showing the Spanish villa where the couple got married. Here it is framed and hanging in their bedroom:

Master Bie is just one of several professional portrait artists at Linden Alley. I’m Peter, the founder of Linden Alley. I live in China, speak and read fluent Chinese, and work directly with the artists to make our hand-painted custom oil paintings. No middle-men, so we can offer top quality at very competitive prices with personal customer service.

Coming soon: posts about how we do our dog portraits, another very popular category of custom paintings.

Our new Portrait Artist Blog

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Here’s our first post on the brand-new Linden Alley blog. We setup this space to be able to communicate more with our customers, and share stories about Linden Alley and what it’s like being a portrait artist here. Click on one of the ’subscribe’ links on the right to follow our blog and be notified of new posts.

To start our blog post series, here’s an image of one of our most recent portrait paintings:

Like most of our paintings, we did this based on a photograph sent in by the customer. Here it is:

This project was fairly straight-forward for us. We painted the same posture as in the photograph, and of course removed the shoulder of the other person from the photo.

Do you know anyone who’d be interested in having a portrait commissioned like this as well? Send them a link to our website, or use our “remind me to get this as a gift” feature to set a date where we should get in touch with you to discuss your project. Thanks for your support, we look forward to painting for you!
